- Freeze Free & No Fees has three levels of benefits, starting with program participants who produce less than 24 mature eggs at retrieval being guaranteed to freeze at least 12 eggs at no cost. If a participant produces less than 12 eggs, they get to keep all of them; EFC will not receive any eggs in this scenario.
- If 24-30 mature eggs are retrieved, it’s a 50/50 egg-sharing split (you get one extra if it’s an odd number).
- If more than 30 mature eggs are retrieved, the donating woman gets 15 eggs to freeze for no cost.
- With the No Fees element, fees waived include for egg retrieval, pre-screening, medications, in-cycle monitoring (blood/ultrasound), and the first year of egg storage.
- Normal egg-freezing eligibility standards apply.

How our Free Freeze & No Fees program significantly changes your egg freezing costs
Ember’s egg sharing program is designed to significantly reduce or eliminate the cost of our patient’s egg freezing treatment, while also offering a deeply meaningful opportunity to help another individual or couple realize their dream of starting a family. Freeze Free & No Fees is for qualified patients who have a robust ovarian reserve and are willing to donate a portion of their eggs.
Ember patients can participate at one of three levels (see below), depending on how many eggs Ember is able to collect during the egg retrieval & freezing process.
Regardless of level, we guarantee that patients who qualify and participate in our Free Freeze & No Fees egg sharing program will be able to freeze at least 12 of their eggs at no cost!

3 levels that all reduce or eliminate egg freezing costs
Level 1. Program participant can freeze 12 eggs for free
If we retrieve less than 24 mature eggs, sometimes referred to as Metaphase II which is the maturation stage required for fertilization, Ember guarantees the Free Freeze & No Fees participant will receive 12 eggs to freeze. The remaining eggs will be donated to another intended parent at Ember. If a program participant produces less than 12 eggs, they’ll get to keep all of them.
Level 2. 50/50 split
If 24-30 mature eggs are retrieved, they will be split 50/50 between Ember and the Free Freeze & No Fees program participant. In the event that an odd number of eggs is retrieved, the program participant will receive the additional egg.
Level 3. Program participant receives 15 eggs to freeze
If we retrieve more than 30 mature eggs, the program participant gets to keep 15 eggs to freeze for free. The remaining eggs will be donated to another intended parent at Ember.
Participant’s No Fees benefits further reduce egg freezing costs
When you participate in Ember’s Free Freeze & No Fees egg sharing program, we’ll waive not just egg retrieval cost, we also waive the fees during egg retrieval. This includes medications, in cycle blood tests and ultrasound, and of course the first year of storage. Select participants can also have their pre-screening fees waived. Our fertility experts will determine if the participant is eligible to have their pre-screening fees waived after their initial consultation with Dr. William Freije at Ember.
Please note that egg sharing program participants are responsible for tests that are not part of the egg freezing program.
Free Freeze & No Fees participant qualifications and requirements
Donor participant qualifications for our egg sharing split program include:
- Age 21-32 years old.
- Regular menstrual cycles.
- Body mass index (BMI) between 18-25 (calculate your BMI).
- Physically and mentally healthy.
- No recreational drug use.
- No smoking.
- No infectious disease.
- Anti-Müllerian Hormone level > 3.5.
- Antral follicle count > 20.
- Not a carrier of SMN1 or CFTR.
To take advantage of Ember Fertility’s Free Freeze & No Fees egg sharing program, donor participants are required to:
- Be an anonymous egg donor and sign the donation agreement.
- Fill out family history questionnaire.
- Fill out donor application (including photos).
- Complete Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requirements (including infectious disease screening, physical exam and FDA questionnaire).
- Complete carrier screening.
Paring donor eggs with recipients
While specific attributes may be considered when matching Ember’s egg sharing program participants’ donated eggs with intended parents, the final determination will be made by Ember Fertility Center’s Medical Director Dr. Freije.
